So this was quite an adventure. Moss Rock Festival is an outdoor fall festival that welcomed over 10,000 people this year. Lots of artists had their work on display and there were all sorts of eco-idea exhibits from recycling to fuel efficient cars. But lets be honest, what brought us to the Moss Rock Festival was the Nature Cake Expo and Design Competition. This was the first cake competition Prime Cakes has ever entered and though I was a little nervous, I was more excited than anything else! So what the competition entailed was: 800 cupcakes for the festival-goers to taste and a 2 to 3 feet tall cake for the judges to judge. The cupcakes we chose to make were chocolate pumpkin with pumpkin spice buttercream. When it came to the cake design, I went through about 5 completely different designs. In the end, I decided to go with this retro nature cake that I thought was pretty true to my style and the kind of cakes that I love to make. Though we did not when the competition, this was a great experience and I had so much fun meeting all the other cake designers!
